Reflections on my first two weeks on the keto diet

Week 1:

Monday – Eggs & bacon cooked in butter for breakfast?? Bacon cheeseburger casserole for dinner? Where has this diet BEEN all my life? Wow I eat a lot of protein. This is all very complicated, I think I will try to just focus this week on keeping my carb down, that’s going to be really hard. Hrmmm, this headache must be the start of the sugar withdrawals…. Heart Rate Training, Day 1

Well, just got back from my first workout using this new heartrate approach. Wow. I was to do 1 mile at easy pace, 4 miles keeping my heart rate in zones 2-3 (roughly 120-140 beats per minute), and then 1 mile easy. That was tough! My easy miles were way faster than the middle 4! I really had to work and be vigilant to keep my heartrate below 140. But I did it, and here’s hoping I’m finally on the road to shedding these last few pounds…..now I’m off to prepare and plan for dual birthday celebrations with family this evening! Have a great day on this beautiful Saturday!!

I’ve found a couple of different recipes to give me that pizza taste without breaking the calorie bank. Continue reading Pizza Party!
