Today was an upper body day at small group, the main lift being the push press. My weight for the push press today was 50 pounds. Upper body work is not my strong area, and one of the big reasons I started coming to these classes. Here was our workout for the day: Continue reading Small group – 8/18/16

Bod Pod – 8/12/16
About a year and a half ago I began to think about what I wanted my goal weight to be. I was down about 103 pounds by that time, and people began asking me what my ultimate goal was. Having been overweight pretty much my entire life, I had no idea! Many people have a point in time when they were happy with how they looked or how they felt and they aim to get back to that place. I don’t have that reference unfortunately. So I began really thinking and researching. The healthy BMI range for my height is 131-164 pounds, and I’ve always been told I have a frame that is on the larger side. My initial thought was to talk with my doctor about it. Makes sense, right? My doctor would be able to have an intelligent conversation with me about my current weight, my frame size, and what goal weight would make sense for me. Wrong. Continue reading Bod Pod – 8/12/16
Goodyear Half & 10k – 8/13/16: Was that a run or a swim??
This morning I ran the Goodyear Half Marathon/10k, the second race in the Akron Marathon Race Series. I ran the half last year in its inaugural year, and swore to never run a half in the summer ever again. And here I am. With a blog post about running a half in August. Something is clearly wrong with me lol!

What’s for breakfast??
One of the first big changes I made when I joined Weight Watchers was to start eating breakfast every day. Not ever having been a breakfast eater, my repertoire was pretty small in that area. Over time I came to realize that a decent sized breakfast would help me to stay on track for the entire day; spending a few more points in the morning can set you up for a successful day, especially when your breakfast includes good sources of protein and whole grains. I learned to love egg whites cooked with peppers, onion and spinach; egg white omelets filled with strawberries & cinnamon; veggie & cheese fritattas, and oatmeal. In fact, I have become somewhat of an oatmeal connoisseur, thanks again to Hungry Girl for spring boarding me to many creative ideas. Here are some of my favorite recipes. Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure – 7/23/16
One of the things I like about doing races is all the good causes that benefit from the money that is raised. This race was no exception, of course raising money for breast cancer research. This is the second time I have run this one, the first time being back in 2013. Continue reading Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure – 7/23/16
Run – 7/30/16
Boy oh boy was yesterday an eye opener. I decided to hook up with a local running club to do my weekly long run. I’ve been struggling with getting folks to run with, let alone people who run at the same pace as me. And with my husband’s aversion to me being out on the towpath alone, I thought I’d finally give it a try. I had always been (and am still am) very intimated by this group. The woman who leads it ran the Boston Marathon this year at something like a 7:30 pace! I had always envisioned meeting them in the parking lot and then not seeing them again as they sped away. Pasta, why you gotta be so carby?
I love pasta. Who doesn’t? But if you’re trying to lose weight and looking for places to cut some calories, this can be a huge barrier. Have you seen the actual serving size of a serving of spaghetti for crying out loud? It’s about the size of your fist (the average person’s fist, not someone with hands like the Incredible Hulk)! Hello and Welcome!
Hello and welcome to my blog You’ve Got Everything to Lose! I’m so excited you’ve come and hope you can find some valuable information to help you along on your journey toward health and wellness!
My name is Michelle and I’ve been on my own personal journey since September of 2011. My sister-in-law asked me to join her at Weight Watchers and I thought, “eh, why not?” I was in my second to last semester of grad school, which had given me a huge confidence boost. As I look back now, I think this increase in my confidence was the key to my success. I had to have at least a smidgen of belief that it could work, that I could make it work, in order for it to work! And then my journey changed dramatically again in April of 2017 when I decided to try Keto.
I hope that amongst these pages you can find some inspiration and hope to make whatever changes in your life you seek to make. Weight loss is about so much more than just eating right and exercising, though those are two big contributors! It’s also very much a mental game, and my aim with this blog is to help in any way I can!! Welcome!
