Keto Research

I’m excited that so many of you are interested in learning more about the Ketogenic Diet with me!  I’m going to share with you some of the research that I have done.  Again, my disclaimer, I am by no means an expert on the subject.  I am learning myself as I go and will continue to research as I see how the plan works for me.  Please please please research yourself and consider how a dramatic change in eating like this could effect your own personal health and wellness.

That said, here you go, these are the sources I was advised to look at to start my research.  Some of them are trying to sell their individual plans and supports, but if you look around the site there is lots of good information…..

Dave Asprey’s http://www.bulletproof.com/.  If you’ve heard of the Bulletproof coffee, this is where it originates!  There is a helpful infographic of foods as well as lots of other good information, including forums to interact with others doing Keto.

Tim Noakes’  http://realmealrevolution.com/the-facts.  This site has another nice foodlist you can access by signing up on their email list.  Follow this link: http://realmealrevolution.com/the-facts to find a nice layout of the early days of the Ketogenic Diet, back in 1862!  Tons of good info here…

Abel James’  http://fatburningman.com/what-is-the-wild-diet/.  Good information as well as recipes can be found here.

Dr. Joseph Mercola’s  www.cronometer.com.  This is a great website to figure out and track your macros.  Dr. Mercola is very well-respected in the world of alternative medicine.  He has a new book coming out in May that I’ve ordered, “Fat for Fuel: A revolutionary diet to combat cancer, boost brain power and increase your energy”.

There are also many Facebook groups dedicated to the subject of Keto.  I’ve found some good insights and recipes there.  But keep in mind, there are variations on how people work this plan, and there is contradictory information out there.  I hope to get some feedback soon on how to be sure I’m looking to the most reputable sources, which I will of course share!

So what do ya think?
