I was supposed to run 4 miles yesterday. I skipped it. I do not skip workouts. I was set today for a 7 mile run at long run pace (10:35-10:45). It’s been a very rough week, work-wise, and I just could not persuade myself out of bed yesterday. I was a little worried about how today was going to go.
I met a friend at the Bike & Hike trail in Stow, one of the prettiest places I’ve found to run. The trail goes through the woods and looks like one of those internet pictures where the trees form a bright green canopy over the trail. The temperature was in the upper 60’s and the humidity was only about 75%, a vast change from what we’ve been seeing! And boy did that make all the difference in the world. Today’s run felt fantastic. The best feeling run I’ve had in quite some time. My pace was right on the pretty much the entire run. I could breathe without feeling like I was sucking air through a straw. Perhaps yesterday was a needed day off. Hope I feel this good next weekend for the Jeep Davis 5K!
